World Premiere of IGERTHI
Composer Sungji Hong's Igerthi for Piano and Sinfonietta is a piano concerto written for Jihye Chang and Ensemble Intersection. The concerto will be first performed at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 23, 2024, under the direction of Kelly Corcoran. The work takes its title from the Greek text for “He has risen”.

Civitella’s Newly Awarded Music Fellow
Sungji Hong has been awarded a six-week residency at Civitella Ranieri for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Civitella is a residency program for international writers, composers, and visual artists. Located in a 15th-century castle in the Umbrian region of Italy, Civitella Ranieri provides a unique and inspiring setting for artists to pursue their work and exchange ideas.
During the residency, Sungji Hong will compose her new Missa for Trio Mediaeval, which will premiere in March 2025.
