Performance of FATNI

 

Fatni for Kingma System alto flute will be performed by low flute specialist Carla Rees at the Hyperchromatic Music Festival, held on April 15, 2025, at the Professor Stuart Hall Building, Goldsmiths College, University of London, United Kingdom. The festival will feature new works for the Kingma System alto flute and bring together a dynamic program of contemporary compositions exploring extended techniques and microtonal possibilities.

World Premiere of SILENCE, Version for Wind Ensemble

The 'Oboe Concerto, SILENCE,' originally written for oboe and symphony orchestra, has been arranged for Wind Ensemble and will receive its world premiere performance by Jung Choi and the UNT Wind Orchestra on March 20, 2025, under the direction of Andrew Trachsel at the Winspear Performance Hall in the Murchison Performing Arts Center, Denton, Texas.

Performance of AMABILE SAKI

On March 17, 2025, Ensemble Dal Niente will perform Amabile Saki at the UNT Recital Hall in Denton, Texas. Originally composed for flute and piano in 2007 in Thessaloniki, Greece, the piece was later adapted for flute and marimba for Emma Hospelhorn and Gregory Beyer.

Performance of HXO

On March 6, Anne Maker will perform Hxó during her Faculty Flute Recital at the Braithwaite Recital Hall at the University of Texas in Tyler, Texas.

 

It was commissioned by the Texas Flute Society for The 34th Myrna Brown Artist Competition.

Performance of MISSA ICTHYS

 

On March 5, 2025, Trio Mediæval will perform a concert at the Cruce Stark Auditorium at Grayson College in Denison, Texas. The performance will feature Missa Ichthys, including the movements Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei.

Portrait Concert Featuring Trio Mediaeval:

Including a World Premiere

The Portrait Concert on March 4, 2025, at UNT’s Voertman Concert Hall will feature works by Sungji Hong, including Missa Lumen de Lumine, written for Trio Mediæval and released on the ECM New Series (ECM 1929). This piece has been critically acclaimed, achieving top ten rankings on the Billboard Classical Chart and iTunes Classics. Also featured will be Missa Ichthys, a new composition written in 2024 during the Civitella Ranieri Residency in Umbria, Italy, which will have its world premiere. In addition, UNT Camerata, under the direction of Kathryn Davidson, will perform O nata lux.
